Keynote Speaker: Harvey Pitt

Harvey L. Pitt is the Chief Executive Officer of the global business consulting firm, Kalorama Partners,
LLC, and its law firm affiliate, Kalorama Legal Services, LLC. Prior to founding the two Kalorama firms,
Mr. Pitt served as the twenty-sixth Chairman of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission.
In that role, from 2001 until 2003, Mr. Pitt was responsible, among other things, for overseeing the
SEC’s response to the market disruptions resulting from the terrorist attacks of 9/11, for creating the
SEC’s “real time enforcement” program, and for leading the Commission’s adoption of dozens of rules in
response to the corporate and accounting crises generated by the excesses of the 1990s.
For nearly a quarter of a century before becoming the SEC’s Chairman, Mr. Pitt was a senior corporate
partner in the international law firm, Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson. He was a founding trustee
and the first President of the SEC Historical Society, and participates in a wide variety of bar and
continuing legal education activities to further public consideration of significant corporate and
securities law issues. Mr. Pitt served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Georgetown University Law Center
(1975-84), George Washington University Law School (1974-82), the University of Pennsylvania School of Law
(1983-84), and The Yale Law School (2007).

Ron S. Geffner

Vice President, Hedge Fund Association
Overseeing the Financial Services Group, Ron S. Geffner regularly structures, organizes and counsels
private investment vehicles, investment advisory organizations, broker-dealers, commodity pool operators
and other investment fiduciaries. His broad background with federal and state securities laws and the rules
and regulations of the SEC, Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Commodities Futures Trading Commission
and various other regulatory bodies enables him to provide strategic guidance to a diverse clientele. He
provides legal services to hundreds of hedge funds, private equity funds and venture capital funds
organized in the U.S. and offshore. Mr. Geffner began his legal career with the SEC, where he investigated
and prosecuted violations of the federal securities laws.

Marita K. Wein
Partner, Alternative Investment Group
Marita K. Wein is a Partner at Alternative Investment Group and is responsible for risk management
at all levels of the investment process. She joined the firm in February 2003. Prior to joining Alternative
Investment Group, Marita was the Senior VP of Operations, Technology and Risk Management at Commonfund, a
multi-billion investment management organization serving endowments, foundations, and other non-profit
institutions. Before Commonfund in 1987, Marita was a Senior Financial Analyst with Van Eck Associates for
two years, providing financial analysis and portfolio recommendations for a global equity fund for U.S. and
international institutional investors.

Andrew Saunders
Director, Capital

Direct Access Partners, LLC
Andrew Saunders is the Head of Capital Introduction and a member of the Capital Alternatives Group at
Direct Access Partners, LLC (Direct Access) . Prior to Direct Access Partners, Mr. Saunders held a similar
role at EFX Prime Services, the prime brokerage business of First New York Securities. Before EFX Prime
Services, Mr. Saunders was a Managing Director at Hedge Connection. His leadership responsibilities
included business development, client relations, investor liaison, media relations and strategic
partnerships. Mr. Saunders began his career on Wall Street was with Taylor Rafferty, a boutique
cross-border investor relations firm. During his 7-year tenure, he assisted senior management implement all
aspects of their investor relations programs including: corporate strategy development, IPO/Secondary road
shows, media relations, and led 12 ADR listings & IPOs on the NYSE and NASDAQ. Mr. Saunders holds the
Series 7 and 63 licenses, the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation (CAIA) and is an officer
of the CAIA NY Chapter. Prior to entering the financial services industry, Mr. Saunders spent four years in
Malaysia and Indonesia as a teacher and entrepreneur.
George Yepes
Managing Director, Head of North American Business Development, FRM Americas LLC
George Yepes heads FRM’s North American Business Development efforts and team, focusing on relationships
with consultants, institutional clients, and high net worth investors in the US and Canada. Previously,
he was Managing Director and Head of US Distribution and Client Relationship Management for Man
Investments, and prior to that was Head of North American Sales for Gottex Fund Management. Earlier in
his career he held senior sales and sales management positions at financial firms including Nasdaq Liffe
Markets, Instinet, Bridge Information Systems and Reuters. George holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from
the State University at Albany, New York. He joined FRM in 2010 and is based in New York.
Ronen Schwartzman
Founder and CEO Ten Capital Advisors
Ronen Schwartzman, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ten Capital Advisors, has over 12 years of
investment and capital markets experience. Prior to founding Ten Capital Advisors, he served as Chief
Investment Officer of Yellow Brick Capital, a multi-family office focused on alternative investments,
which he led to a profitable year in 2008 - the worst year in the history of hedge fund industry. Prior
to that Ronen worked for 4 years at Bear Stearns in New York where he managed equity and fixed income
portfolios for individuals and corporations. He also advised institutional investors on capital markets
investments. Ronen started his career as an equity analyst with Oppenheimer in Tel Aviv where he was
frequently quoted in the local media. A former Special Operations Intelligence Officer in the Israeli Air
Force, Ronen is fluent in Spanish and Hebrew and holds an MBA from The Wharton School - University of
Pennsylvania.

Mitch Ackles is the CEO of Hedge Fund PR and the president and spokesman of the Hedge Fund Association,
an international non-profit organization that promotes the understanding and development of the hedge fund
industry. With over 20 years of experience, Mitch has executed campaigns for hedge funds, political and
economic leaders, service providers, luminaries, conference organizers, charitable organizations and local,
national and global hedge fund groups. Previously, Mitch was marketing director for vFinance, VP of hedge
fund capital introduction for Global Partners Group and worldwide marketing manager for Dow Jones
TradeStation. Mitch holds a B.A. in PR and communications, is fluent in English and Spanish, and manages
reputations for some of the brightest minds and brands in the hedge fund industry. Mitch is also devoted
to service, demonstrated by pro-bono support of non-profit organizations. As Hedge Fund Association
president and spokesman, Mitch is an advocate for the entire hedge fund community. For HFA, he directs
media relations, member events and lobbying on Capitol Hill. Mitch also serves as the media contact for
Hedge Funds Care, a global charitable organization which raises funds for programs that work to prevent
and treat child abuse.
